Meet Our Team

Dr. Keith Niesenbaum is the owner and medical director of Crawford Dog and Cat Hospital. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984, he spent 4 years practicing in New Jersey while his wife Anne finished up her OB/GYN residency. They relocated to Long Island in 1988 where he started Animal Bedside Care, a Veterinary House Call Service which is now an integral part of Crawford's services. The hospital and kennel were purchased in 2002 and Dr. Niesenbaum is happy to be settled in to a permenant home.
Dr. Brian Spar is our senior associate veterinarian. After graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London, he returned to his home town, Long Beach, with his wife, Angela, also a veterinarian. They practiced together on the south shore for the past 5 years until we were able to convince him to join us in April 2008. He and Angela have an adorable baby daughter, Ella, and two cats (Ainsley and Silvio - a former Crawford resident!).
